The Challenge
CBRE reached out to Sustain to design and install a Solar PV system across four buildings at King George Hospital, with tight deadlines, a heavy focus on safety due to the sensitive nature of the site and minimising disruption.
The Solution
• Producing a detailed CAD design within 1 week of being appointed.
• Managing the DNO G99 Application on behalf of the client to obtain relevant permissions to install the proposed PV Array
• Generated optimal design proposals using the sites half hourly consumption data and provided for client review.
• 783 Solar Edge Optimizers & arcbox protection installed, to ensure maximum safety.
• The 775 kWp Solar PV system has a forecasted ROI of 3 years and 4 months
• Structural surveys undertaken and design modified to work within the constraints of the existing building structure. Provision of 1566 – 495 Watt panels installed under Principal Contractor appointment.
• Safe access to the roof installed in the form of edge protection, Haki stair cases, and using a telehandler to get the panels onto the roof.
• Energisation achieved by connecting to a non-essential board, keeping disruption to a minimum.
