Cooper Parry partnered with Sustain Commercial Solar to deploy an integrated renewable energy solution, combining a 135.64kWp rooftop solar PV system with a 224kWh battery energy storage system (BESS)
While the solar installation provides clean, on-site electricity generation, the battery storage system was the key element in maximising the value of the renewable energy produced. The FoxESS G-Max 215kWh AC-coupled battery system enables surplus solar energy generated during the day to be stored and utilised when building demand remains high outside peak generation hours.
By combining solar generation with intelligent energy storage, Cooper Parry has significantly reduced its reliance on imported grid electricity, improved energy resilience and protected the business from rising costs. The project is forecast to deliver over £562,000 in lifetime savings while supporting the organisation's sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.
Energy storage formed the foundation of this project, allowing Cooper Parry to maximise the value of every unit of renewable electricity generated on-site.
Sustain Commercial Solar installed a 224kWh FoxESS G-Max Battery Energy Storage System alongside a 135.64kWp solar PV array. Rather than exporting excess solar generation back to the grid, the battery captures and stores surplus energy for use later in the day when demand exceeds solar production.
The battery system also provides increased operational flexibility, helping the business manage fluctuating energy demands while reducing exposure to future electricity price volatility. As energy costs continue to rise, the battery installation ensures that a greater proportion of the site's energy requirements can be met using low-carbon, self-generated electricity.
